Exciting day today!

Well this afternoon is Jaxon's 1st grade fall party. I am dropping the 3 younger ones off at Grammie and Pa's house for about an hour so I can go have some fun with Jaxon. I love the one-on-one time with him and you should see his face when I walk in his classroom door. I love it!! I NEVER had that as a child, so I am determined to be a great "classroom mom." So far so good. . .with only one child in school. lol

Last night as the kids and I were running from store to store in White House, trying to find the best candy deals for Allen's "boo gifts" at work, (which I just found out about at 5 last night grrr) Asher and Jaxon sat in the back seat of the van. I was strapping the little ones in their seats and I hear them chanting a little something. I look back to find them doing a "secret" handshake. OMG! I just about cried. I was so pleased to see them getting along and being best friends. I am so happy to have them realize that they are the best friends either of them will ever have! I love it!

Well tonight we are off to get Halloween costumes. I know, a little late, but for us it is still enough time. I usually never buy them until after Halloween and then I keep them for the next year, but the boys are getting old enough now that they don't like that idea. So this is yet another change for us. Just going with the flow.[gallery link="file"]

Ramblings of Asher. . .

Asher is always coming up with some funny things to say. I love the way his mind works. He is so full of knowledge and just hasn't figured out how to translate it so that everyone else gets it. lol He has been this way since he could talk. So last night as we were doing the evening dinner clean-up and bath/shower time, he comes in with his earplugs and says,

Asher: "Mama, I know what this says. I can read the instructions."

Me: "Okay, Asher what does it say?"

Asher: "First, you take the earplug out and smoosh is all up and then you put it in your son's ear. See Mama, it says it right here!"

Me: "Well Asher what if you have a daughter? Can you put them in her ears?"

Asher: "ARE YOU SERIOUS?? NOBODY HAS A DAUGHTER!!!!"

I just about died laughing. Allen was getting Noah in the bath and he heard it and you could just hear him cracking up. Leave it to Asher to give us a good ending to a very long day. It was hilarious!!

Back in the Swing of Things

It has been over a year since I posted last. I have been so busy and life has been so overwhelming. The past year has shown me that nothing is stable and permanent. We have struggled personally and as a family to keep everything together. But instead of dwelling on the past, I am choosing to move forward and start blogging from today's adventures.

Adding just a few pics to get caught up with the kiddos. More to come!
